Moisturizers

Why You Should I Apply Moisturizer

Moisturizers are products that help the skin retain moisture and maintain a normal skin barrier function. Moisturization is a very important part of skincare routine and cannot be skipped whatever skin type may be or howsoever swamped with work you might be. And if you do miss your skin starts acting out and becomes all dry and patchy. Moisturizing protects your skin from the everyday hustle-bustle, dirt, and the weather conditions that damage it and leave the skin looking all dull and unhealthy.

The moisturizing products available are broadly divided into hand and body products and facial moisturizers, however most facial moisturizers are rarely positioned as moisturizers but more as anti-aging products due to line/wrinkle reduction. Facial moisturizers need to be non-greasy, non-tacky and fast absorbing.

Good moisturising performance is especially critical for hand and body lotion formulations since hand and lower leg areas are especially prone to dry, flaky skin. Another important benefit of moisturizers is the ability to repair the barrier function of skin caused by chronic subclinical skin irritation. This occurs year round  and significantly contributes to skin aging. This is why all anti aging or skin repair activities should be formulated in a good moisturizing based formulation.
