Metallic & Ceramic Braces
The design of these braces may vary a bit according to the orthodontist. Most braces have a metal band that is attached to the back molar teeth, and the transparent brackets that are fitted on top of the teeth. Several small rubber bands are used to push the teeth into the desired position. This design works by squeezing the tooth into the correct position. Over time, the ligaments that hold the teeth in place will strengthen, and the teeth will remain in place without the use of rubber bands.
Metallic Braces: One of the first orthodontic appliances introduced in dentistry for the correction for misaligned teeth. All constituents of metallic brace system are corrosion resistant and offer sufficient strength for the intended use.
Ceramic Braces: are less conspicuous than metal braces and are also practically invisible when worn. apart from that, ceramic braces also feature a smooth surface, which makes them much more comfortable than metal braces, particularly for those with sensitive teeth.
